With this now being my last few weeks at a tenant of Hyde Park, which has been close to a three year relationship with neighbours, office staff, and maintenance personnel, it seems nearly impossible to bid farewell without offering a sincere gesture of thanks. It is more than the continuing diligence in ensuring that our facilities have been so attentively cared for. It is more than the swift response time in dealing with minor occurrences any time the need arrived, and, it is more than courtesy extended in tending to needs as they arose. It is mostly the intangibles of the community and the staff that have made Hyde Park feel like returning at the end of the day, or from any of my frequent travels, that have given the feeling of returning 'home'.
Although I will be leaving my present rental unit, becoming a property owner in the new phase of Hyde Park condos a block away will be such a simple transition, I'm sure. With the same familiar surroundings in my favourite area of the city, the phrase, "the more things change, the more they stay the same," couldn't ring more true.
So, as this chapter nears a close, another begins, with great expectations of a continued, growing relationship of neighbours as friends.
